One of the very best ways to avoid disasters (even little ones) on your wedding day is to plan ahead.

You need to embrace the Boy Scouts’ motto and “be prepared”!

Here is a Wedding Day Emergency Kit list from real bride and super planner Maria Northcott of Maine.  I especially love that the list is in alphabetical order!

  • Advil
  • Alka Seltzer
  • Baby powder
  • Band-Aids
  • Benedryl
  • Body bronzer
  • Bottles of water
  • Breath mints/spray
  • Bug spray
  • Cash (because you never know)
  • Cellular phone
  • Chalk (to cover up smudges or smears on dress)
  • Clear deodorant/anti-perspirant
  • Club soda for stain removal
  • Comb/brush
  • Contact solution and case
  • Corsage pins
  • Cotton balls/cotton swabs
  • Dental floss/toothpicks
  • Duct tape
  • Extra earring backs
  • Glasses
  • Granola bars or other easy-to-carry snacks
  • Hair pins/ponytail holders

Maria is a wedding officiant and brings this same emergency kit with her to the weddings she officiates.  I bet she has saved the day several times just by being prepared.

What else would you add to this list?  Personally, I’m thinking about putting together a kit with some or most of these items, plus the full printed list, to give to brides-to-be a few months before the wedding.  What do you think?
