NBA legend Michael Jordan and model Yvette Prieto tied the knot in Palm Beach, Florida, on April 27, 2013. Congrats, Michael and Yvette!
With a star-studded guest list including Tiger Woods and Patrick Ewing, reception entertainment by Usher, and fireworks to finish the evening, the wedding was an event to remember.
But even in the midst of all the entertaining and celebrations, Jordan and his bride took time to remember those less fortunate.
Instead of gifts, the bride and groom asked that donations be made to the James R. Jordan Foundation, an organization dedicated to “strengthening families through education and partnerships.”
According to the foundation’s mission statement,
The James R. Jordan Foundation is dedicated to strengthening families, motivating youth and ensuring high quality academic opportunities for children in underserved communities.
The James R. Jordan Foundation Vision for Families – our series of family programming – is guided by the belief that a strong family plays a major role in a child’s academic success, and that education provides a path out of poverty.
The couple also donated all the wedding flowers to the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. What an excellent way to serve the community through the beauty of the wedding.
Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Jordan! And bravo for remembering others on your special day!
